About the Author
Paul Batura is vice president of communications for Focus on the Family. With more than two decades of diverse experience in the news media, broadcast journalism, publishing and non-profit administration, Batura has been with Focus on the Family since 1998. The author of five books and contributor to others, Batura’s writings are motivated and inspired by a desire to encourage and lift the hearts of others. Most recently, he collaborated with Jim Daly on ReFocus: Living a Life that Reflects God’s Heart. Batura and his wife, Julie, had the privilege of adopting their three young boys, Riley, Will and Alex, at birth. They join countless other families in celebrating the courageous decision of birthmothers and birthfathers who choose life. Batura and his family reside in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Chosen for Greatness is an inspirational book which every reader will enjoy.

As a parent of an adopted child, I looked forward to reading this book. I was not disappointed! Not only was the book an excellent read, I could not put it down until I came to the last page. I had no idea how many accomplished and famous people were adopted. This is clearly a book I want to keep for my child once she is old enough to read. Chosen for Greatness is an inspirational book that every reader will enjoy. It is a book I highly recommend for all readers.

An gem of history story telling

This is a genuinely remarkable book. Batura tells the adoptive stories of 16 famous people from today reaching back more than 2,000 from Babe Ruth, Leo Tolstoy, Steve Jobs, George W. Carver, Faith Hill to Jesus. He uses each of these stories to tell the reader a bit of the history of adoption in its long history. It's a brilliant device for telling the larger story of adoption.
In fact, the book is as valuable an explanation of important parts of history in general as it is about each person's own personal story. Batura is a very gifted researcher and story teller. I couldn't recommend the highly enough.
